Hello, my name is Edgar Santos, I am a Mechanical Engineering Undergrad at The City College of New York (CCNY) with an interest in Solid Mechanics and FEA. This page is home to my project work ; created with Ntop, Solidworks, and Revit.
Collaborated with a research team to optimize the structural design of a wearable exoskeleton calf, reducing the weight by over 50 %, while maintaing the structural strength.
[Work in Progress]
Scale model of the MTA R44 subway car featuring print-in-place mechanics. 3D printed with PLA and PETG, the next phase of this involves designing and 3D printing a custom chassis to house pre-existing RC car components.
Over the summer of 2022-2024, I joined my CAD teacher, Mr Buro and a group of SITHS students to work on the SITHS VR model- a project to create a true-to-life 3D model of Staten Island Technical High School in Revit, rendered with Enscape, a real time rendering software.
SITHS plans to use this model to create a virtual reality tour of our school. This would allow any prospective student, current student, or any curious person to take a "walkthough" our school. SITHS will also offer in-person visitors the chance to use VR headsets to fully experience our model, and will also showcase a "walkthough" tour on our school website. The school also plans to use this project to propose future renovation proposals.
